SEO OR PPC; Which strategy is best for traffic generation

The success of an online business greatly depends on the traffic generated to its website. In order for your business to grow, it's very important to draw in your clients with organic traffic, at the same time, apply strategies to attract them with ad campaigns and online marketing. You can achieve these goals by utilizing effective SEO and PPC techniques. Both techniques are presumed to be valuable to any marketing strategy plan. But the question remains, which is the right technique to generate traffic for your online business?

SEO
You must have come across the words "Search Engine Optimization" before, but probably have no idea what it means or how to use it? Basically, SEO is utilizing targeted keywords or keyphrases and other related strategies to rank page(s) higher on search results. It's very important because nearly 80% of online traffic you get is searched for on search engines like Google. Interestingly, people are more likely to click on the websites that appear close to the top of the results page. It is inevitable and highly beneficial to include SEO in all your online marketing strategy in order to appear in front of audiences at all times.

One major SEO benefits is in the proven fact that it bring better leads on the average. Most of the organic leads that patronize your services can become long term customers and can create a lead for other potential customers.  Ranking high on search engines will position you as a credible brand that consumers respect and trust. You can strategize and attract attention to your page by effectively using unique keywords or keyphrases. For instance, if you are a SEO service provider, you will want to put "SEO service provider" somewhere on your page to boost your search results towards the top.

PPC
Apart from SEO, Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising is also a valuable strategy for your online presence as well. Pay-Per-Call is a method of advertising by which you bid to have your ads placed on "sponsored" results when someone types in a search including your keywords or keyphrases. It's known as "pay-per-click" because you have to pay for each user who clicks on the ad you are promoting.
The main benefit derived from PPC is achieving immediate results. SEO strategy is quite cumbersome and takes time to rank high on search engines especially if you have a new site. With PPC advertising strategy, you can put your company's name, product and services in front of millions of people the moment you make a payment. This strategy is perfect for showcasing time-sensitive information like product launches, special offers, and big events. You can even target specific audiences for your ads, like income, gender and age range. PPC is a very effective tool for boosting exposure within a short time and put your name on the map.

Now that you have digest this information, the question that comes in your mind is "which is the best strategy". The answer to this question is not far-fetched. Simply put, you will need both SEO and PPC to boost your online presence to its fullest. Not only should you use both strategies, but you should know how and when to use them as well.
